Everything before that is just progress.” And progress indeed continues. If all goes well, I’ll have Episode 13 online this weekend, in fact!
When I started this project, a lot of people asked me how I would handle Desmond’s episode, “Happily Ever After” (Episode 11). Mostly, the answer was, “We’ll see when I get there.” Now that we’ve finally crossed that bridge, I discovered two things: 1) That it really wasn’t as difficult as I anticipated and 2) that, on the flip side, the editing unfortunately left the entire episode at just over ten minutes long.
As a result, what I decided to do is combine the Revised versions of Episodes 11 and 12 into a single episode of Lost Revised. Once put together, they actually work quite well as a single installment — one that still clocks in at just under the length of a standard canon episode. In fact, if it wasn’t for the duplicate credits, you probably wouldn’t notice at all.
Also, apologies in advance for the slight glitches toward the end. I was working with the only files I was able to track down at the moment, so it was really unavoidable. (And for the record, what Locke says is that it *isn’t* the only well.) Enjoy, and feel free to share your thoughts!
As you may have heard, the official series epilogue of Lost appeared online today. We’re happy to say that, like Lost Revised, “The New Man in Charge” also overlooks the existence of the sideways storyline, and focuses only on things in the real world (so to speak). We won’t spoil it for you if you haven’t seen it yet, but we will say it provides some satisfying answers to more than a few unresolved questions, even if it does get a bit heavy-handed in terms of its rapid-fire reveals. There’s even a heartwarming moment or two, and a very cool resolution at the end. Look for some much-missed familiar faces, a new orientation video, and yet another unexpected twist.

If you’ve seen Ab Aeterno (the ninth episode of season six) before, then you already know that this was one of the only episodes of the season that didn’t feature any footage from the sideways world. As such, we’re uploading it as is, uncut from the way it originally aired. Of course, we’ve still labeled it Lost Revised Episode 09, but that’s purely for continuity purposes.
It’s important for the sake of this project that you see the entire season as it would have appeared without the existence of the sideways world. That includes Ab Aeterno, which therefore takes its place as Episode 09 of Lost Revised. Additionally, this episode represents Lost at its finest — it’s a prime example of just how brilliant this show could be when at its best. If this kind of consideration could have been applied throughout the entire season, there would have been no need for this project in the first place.
We got a note from Dani Rosenoer on Twitter today, pointing us toward his blog post attempting to make some sense out of all the open-ended mysteries on Lost. Some of what he puts forward is speculation regarding things left unexplained, while some of it is wishful thinking as to how things could have been done differently.
